Attend the Dawn Parade

Commemorate the ANZAC day with the dawn parades that begin with a march by returning servicemen and women before dawn to local war memorials. Following with a service which will include a recital of Kipling’s ‘Lest we forget’ and ends with a minute of silence to honor those who gave their lives.

Explore Te Papa

Located in the heart of the city, Te Papa Museum is an interactive and visually inspiring experience. Gallipoli: The Scale of our War Exhibition tells the stories of our kiwi soldiers and nurses. Stories are told through large-scale sculptures that are 2.4 times human size.

Take the Cable Car

Take a five-minute ride from Wellington’s busy shopping heart of Lambton Quay to the serene beauty of the Botanical Gardens. The short return journey is NZ$9 or $5 one way, making it an affordable and enjoyable thing to do in Wellington! Walk along the waterfront

Walk along the waterfront to Oriental Bay and past many sculptures including hidden poetry in the concrete. Filled with activities, you can spend a relaxing evening out here watching everyone skate, cycle and more.
